NAVPREET KAUR
THE LAST MELT
This painting explores the increasingly fragile relationship between humanity and our natural environment. Glaciers - often perceived as timeless and immovable - are in constant state of transformation and there are tangible changes occurring in some of Earth’s most vulnerable ecosystems.
Here the serene beauty of ice turns into the destructive force of flood waters everything in their path. Through expressive layered textures and a palette dominated by blue and white, I sought to capture the majesty and beauty of glacial landscapes and a sense of urgency surrounding its disappearance.
